Submission Guidelines

KultureMap reserves the right to edit and/or remove any and all listings. These guidelines articulate the general parameters by which such information will be considered and accepted or rejected for submission to the website; however, in all instances, the authority to make decisions based on specific circumstances belongs to KultureMap.

Inclusiveness: KultureMap listings do not discriminate on the basis of the subject matter or artists involved, including for reasons of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or political point of view.

Responsibility: KultureMap accepts event listings that use images and language up to what would be considered a “PG-13” level.

Tolerance: KultureMap does not accept event listings that feature slurs, epithets or hateful comments.

Lead Time: Submitted events, once accepted and approved for posting, should post immediately. We request that you submit your event listing at least one week prior to the scheduled occurrence of the event to allow for adequate visibility and promotion.

Events Images: Multiple images may be uploaded along with your event listing. Make sure the Primary Image is the one that you want to be displayed with the title of the event. Images must be in .JPG format ONLY, and no larger than 1 megabyte and 400×400 pixels. Depending on the size of your image and connection speed to the Internet, the upload process may take up to several minutes – please be patient. Once received, your image will be formatted for display. If you have problems uploading your images, make sure you are following the size and format restrictions mentioned above. If you are still having problems, simply email your image files to media@KultureMap.com and we will add them for you.

Events Video: Our event submission form accepts video “embed” code and links as provided by websites like YouTube.com. A video added to this form will appear on the event detail page.

Forms: Please make every effort to complete all fields on the Event Listing Forms. Required fields must be completed. This will allow your event page to look complete and professional.

PLEASE NOTE: KultureMap reserves the right to edit graphic images and submissions for grammar, style, and accuracy. We may omit any events that we believe are not suitable for the site.

KultureMap accepts the following:

✅  University Department of Dance productions (Department and Student)

✅  University Department of Drama productions (Department and Student)

✅  Opera

✅  Ballet

✅  Dance

✅  Symphony

✅  Museum exhibits or events

✅  Venue listings or events

✅  Arts Festivals

✅  Special events related to arts and culture

✅  Classes and workshops that are listed under the above categories

✅  Free Arts and Entertainment events (These events do not carry a fee for listing)

✅  Virtual events without a designated location

KultureMap does not accept the following:

❌  Audition notices

❌  Events that are invitation only, fundraising galas or benefits, retreats, or camps

❌  Health fairs, social service events, or self-help seminars

❌  Sales, shopping or merchandising events

❌  Entrepreneurial, networking and/or recruitment events

❌  Calls for entry or vendor solicitations

❌  Food and drink specials

❌  Real estate seminars

❌  Social gatherings

❌  Dating events

❌  Self-help or self-improvement events

❌  Open Mic nights

❌  Happy hours (unless there is more than just happy hour and music)

❌  Reading groups

❌  Book signings

❌  Events emailed to us that are listed in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS

❌  Recurring events that do not meaningfully change from week to week
